Ian Ward is a highly respected stone carver with formal training from Winchester and a prestigious four-year apprenticeship at Chichester Cathedral. Over the years, Ian has worked on some of the UK’s most iconic sites, including St Paul’s Cathedral, St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, and Stirling Castle, as well as private estates like Woburn Abbey and Althorp. Renowned for his attention to detail and historical accuracy, Ian has won numerous commissions, demonstrating his mastery of both traditional and contemporary stonework.

Ian’s passion for stone carving is matched by his love of teaching. With a warm and approachable style, he ensures that students of all levels—whether complete beginners or those looking to refine their skills—feel confident as they discover the joy of working with stone.

While John Deverall may be modest about sharing his bio, his wealth of knowledge and infectious energy speak volumes. When Sue and her friend first met John, they were captivated by his engaging personality and impressive expertise. With a fascinating career history and a natural ability to inspire, John brings charm, humour, and skill to every lesson, creating an atmosphere where creativity can truly flourish.
